I Grew Up in Sylmar

My name is Sheela DuMond and I grew up in Sylmar. I lived in a little house on Dyer St. It was a little street. Around our house, there were other little houses. On the hill there was a big park. Our house had two bedrooms and I slept in the same room with my brother. There was a big backyard with grape vines, a lemon tree, and an orange tree. One day I began to eat one of the grapes and it was sour. There was also a turtle sandbox and I played in it. While I was fooling around in our backyard a feral kitten was following me around and my mom adopted her and named her Sasha. I got stung by a wasp while I was catching it, but luckily, I didn’t have an allergic reaction. After my mom moved out and got divorced, our house caught on fire on Labor Day 1995. Our dad moved to a one-story house in West Hills and now I live in Ventura.

Francisco Bojorquez

When I was a child, I was afraid of lightning. I remember that in a rainy summer day in the land of the sun, Mexico, to me it seemed like the end of the world. The whole sky turned dark gray and no sun light could go trough. At first, I started hearing weird noises coming from the sky, it sounded like if someone was closing a huge big door in the sky. After a little while the noises became louder and louder, and I ran to hide under my bed. Trough the window I could see the illumination of the lightning similar to a house light, where the light appears and disappear in just seconds. The horrifying moment came after the luminous show, when the strong sound from the sky came after the appearance of thee light. I didn't want to get out of under my bed, I felt safe there.

Snake

When I was a child I was afraid of snakes. One hot summer day in Napa valley 2005, my family and friends were having b day party. My cousin use to love animals and his special animal was the snake. The house where we were was really big, had a pool, tennis court, a big patio, and 5 rooms. My cousin use to live his snake in his room but that day. The snake wasn’t at his room my I was really scare because I don’t like snakes at all. We were at the pool when saw the snake around the pool I started screaming because I thought it was going to beat me. My whole family and friends were eating drinking. The snake is the worst animal you can have as a pet.!

When i was a little kid i was afraid of the dark. Every time i had to turn of the lights at night i would run and turn them of and run back to my bed. I would try not to step on the ground. i was scared that something under the bed was going to get me. It was dark and scary. Everything would look so different. one time i couldnt go to sleep because i would see snakes everywhere. There were other times my sister face would look so scary.

When I was a Child I was afraid of...

When I was a child i was afraid of the clown called It. He had scary teeth and a huge smile that seemed up to no good. It always horrified me because the teeth were full of blood. His eyes were red and huge. He would laugh loud enough that it still haunts me today. It ran in quickly after the ones he wanted to capture. The movie was too scary for me that i didn't finish it. To this day i still have not watched the movie.

When I was a child Iwas afraid of...

When I was 4 years old, I always rode my favorite big wheel out in my back yard every morning.
One morning I was riding my big wheel and I saw a orange butterfly flying around. The next thing you know the butterfly crashed in to my forehead, I thought it was attacking me. I left my bike and ran to the back door of the house. Ever since then I would run from butterflies. The White butterflies chase me the most.
