Defining a Narrative Essay

*Definition of a Narrative Essay?
This is an essay that tells a story. It is usually an event or even an experience that the writer has adventured in his life.

*What are the elements of a narrative essay?
*It has an over all point to make to the reader.
*A good idea
*A good narrative essay involves the reader in its story.
*It is better to make an incident for the reader then to just talk about the incident.
*It relates the times and dates and actions that took place. Pin pointed. Sequence.
*Include: Details, Observations of People, Places, & Events.
*It has Changes, Contrasts or Conflicts and also creates tension.
*It's your point of view on things.
*You write in first person which is "I", But it is okay to use 3rd person "He", "She", or "It".
*A normal story that most are used to is the plot, setting and characters; a climax; and an ending which is some what the format for a narrative essay.
