A narrative essay is a essay that is usually written in first person. Most of the time narrative stories are written about a true event in the writers life. The essay may use some dialogue to make the event and story seem more exciting and interesting. The main point in a narrative essay is usually told in the opening sentence and sometimes can be found in the last sentence. The opening sentence usually tells you what kind of story the essay going to be about. It can be a observation, event, personal experience, etc. usually the writer lets you know the tone is going to be by those subjects. The conventions in a narrative essay are plot, character, setting, climax, and ending. All of those detail relate to the main point in the opening sentence.
