Narrative essays are defined as telling a true story. Narrative essays can be based on your own experience, someone else's experiences explained in your own words, and it can be past or present. A narrative essay should be telling a story to the reader and has to have a point or lesson learned to the story.

When writing a narrative essay you should think about what you want your story to be about. Also, think about why your story is significant enough for you to share the experience. You would need to create an outline of basic parts that would be in your narrative essay. The first paragraph of your essay should have the communication and significance of your experience.

People would write a narrative essay to share experiences they have had. Narrative essays are usually written in first person, but then using third person view can also be used. They usually concentrate on sensory details so the reader feels like they were there with you when the story happened. Narrative essays should be like any other essay, they would need to have a climax, characters, setting, and an ending.
